Tomorrow is the big day! The Nintendo Switch 2 will finally hit the console market, bringing its share of new features. We're obviously thinking of its new features, as well as its catalog of exclusive games. However, the catalog of the previous hybrid console hasn't been left behind with the new one. Among its iconic games, Pokemon Scarlet and Purple will be getting a makeover, see for yourself.
Pokemon Scarlet & Purple is still being detailed on Nintendo Switch 2
While waiting for the upcoming Pokemon Legends ZA at the end of the year, players will still be busy with Scarlet and Purple. The latest title in the franchise continues to offer regular events to keep the community alive. But what many are currently eyeing is its upgrade on the Nintendo Switch 2.
The console will arrive tomorrow and will be accompanied by several performance patches for games from the first Switch. While some are paid, taking the form of a "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition," others are free. This is particularly the case for Pokemon Scarlet and Purple.
The game has even already started preparing the ground with an update earlier this week to move to version 4.0. So, starting tomorrow, you will be able to rediscover Pokemon Scarlet & Purple in a new light thanks to the Nintendo Switch 2. The console will allow it to run with a higher and more stable frame rate, correcting one of the game's major drawbacks. The graphics will also be refined for Full HD rendering.
To whet our appetites, the Kyoto-based company presented gameplay clips of Pokemon Scarlet and Purple via its application, Nintendo Today!, no later than Monday, June 2. Broadcast on mobile, the video does not do justice to the resolution that the game will display. However, we can definitely see an overall increase in fluidity.
Finally, our colleagues at Serebii had the first look at a preview of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet on Nintendo Switch 2. They can thus confirm that the game will support HDR. This is obviously in addition to the 4K display and 60 FPS. We will also note several fixes on the animation side, notably those due to the display distance, such as the fact that the windmill wings did not turn well in the distance. From now on, no more worries! Nintendo's new hybrid console should offer a version of the game that will finally hold up technically.
