Ubisoft may not have held a conference at this Summer Game Fest, but that doesn't mean the publisher was completely absent from the festivities. Quite the opposite, in fact. While it didn't participate in the main conferences as it usually does, the French giant still reserved a few opportunities for the PC Gaming Show, which, for example, received a release date for Anno 117: Pax Romana. But things don't stop there, as the Prince of Persia franchise also made a small appearance.
The Rogue Prince of Persia's early access is coming to an end
So no, we'll stop you right there: Ubisoft wasn't planning on revealing new images of the highly anticipated remake of The Sands of Time. On the other hand, it was the opportunity for the Evil Empire studio to reveal that The Rogue Prince of Persia will officially leave its early access during the month of August 2025. A little over a year after its launch, the title from the creators of Dead Cells, which takes the form of a 2D roguelite action platformer, is finally preparing to enter its version 1.0.
The other good news is that this means that we should very soon have information on the console versions of the game, which have already been confirmed by Evil Empire. However, we will have to wait a little longer for that, because no additional details have been given for the moment. In any case, one thing is certain: all this should certainly make many Prince of Persia fans happy, especially when we see the extremely positive feedback received by The Rogue Prince of Persia during its early access.
New content coming up
And what can we expect for this version 1.0? "We're planning to add a whole bunch of new things: levels, weapons, features, enemies, bosses, narrative chapters, and meta progression. At the same time, we'll be identifying what we can add to flesh out the core mechanics of the game," the studio says on Steam, adding that this should double the content currently available in The Rogue Prince of Persia. See you in two short months to discover all of this, then!
