Prince of Persia: The remake officially brings good news

But what's going on at Ubisoft? That's the question everyone's asking. Accustomed to adopting clear communication about its future projects, the French giant now seems to be surprisingly discreet about its upcoming schedule. So much so that it has decided to skip its traditional summer Ubisoft Forward, preferring instead to meet us at Gamescom. Fortunately, the publisher doesn't intend to leave us without anything all summer. Today, he gives us news about a highly anticipated title: the Prince of Persia remake.

Ubisoft gives news about the Prince of Persia remake

Indeed, while the return of the Sands of Time has been long awaited since the announcement of its postponement in February 2021, it seems that things are finally moving for the better for the title, which returned to Ubisoft Montreal in May 2022. “Yes, we are still fully involved in the game – we are exploring, building and ensuring that the sands move with determination” the studio indicated on the official Prince of Persia networks. "This game is being made by a team that truly cares, and puts their heart (and a lot of coffee) into every step.".

So that's pretty reassuring, even if we'll obviously have to wait a little longer before seeing more. "Thank you for staying with us" concludes the press release, which is accompanied for the occasion by a new image of the Prince of Persia remake. The latter then appears a magnificent oriental palace, bathed in the heart of a vast pink sky with a most beautiful effect. Admittedly, it's still not much, especially after the simple animated candle we already had last year during Ubisoft Forward 2024, but we'll say it's better than nothing.

Communication should soon be activated

Especially since, let's remember, communication around The Sands of Time should, in theory, not be too long in getting going. Indeed, after confirming last year that the remake would be released in 2026, Ubisoft revealed last month that it should more precisely arrive during the 2025-2026 fiscal year. In other words, this means we should be able to get our hands on it by March 31, 2026 at the latest. With any luck, we might get another look at Prince of Persia in the coming weeks, like at Gamescom, for example. Fingers crossed.
