Resident Evil Requiem is (already) a millionaire

Resident Evil Requiem is (already) a millionaire

Less than 20 days ago, on June 7th, at the finale of the Summer Game Fest evening, Capcom got everyone on the same page with the announcement of Resident Evil 9, which will be called Requiem. The latter is already expected for February 27th on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. A game that caused a sensation and that seems to be hyped by fans.

Today, only two weeks after its announcement, Capcom announces that the game has been wishlisted more than a million times across all platforms.

Resident Evil Requiem already passes the million mark

It is through its official social networks that Capcom has confirmed the news: since its announcement on June 7, more than a million players have wishlisted Resident Evil Requiem on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. A stratospheric figure that confirms the hype and the great anticipation surrounding the ninth installment of the Resident Evil saga.

Of course, this figure is quite anecdotal since it does not mean that a million players have bought or pre-ordered the game. Wishlists are the wish lists that players can create on PC and consoles to list all the games they will want to test and buy in the months and years to come.

So, putting a game on your wishlist does not mean that you will reserve and buy it on the day of its release. But, it certainly shows the trends and how highly anticipated certain titles can be. And this is the case with this Resident Evil Requiem, which caused a sensation as soon as it was announced.

Expected for February 27, 2026 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, it's a safe bet that the title will be a huge success. This new game will offer players and fans the chance to control Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from the game Resident Evil: Outbreak. This ninth Resident Evil game should allow us to return to the legendary city of Raccoon City, which players have not visited since the end of the events of Resident Evil 3.
