The next version of One UI Watch promises to be more comprehensive than ever. Samsung is introducing new advanced health features for these smartwatches.
The Smartwatches are no longer just used to display the time or notifications. For several years, they have become real tools for health monitoring. Sleep, stress, heart rate, or physical activity: everything can now be analyzed. And Samsung intends to further strengthen this dimension with its next update.
One UI 8 Watch, currently in the testing phase, will introduce several new functions related to health and physical activity. These concern sleep, training, stress, and even antioxidants present in the body. Some will be accessible as part of a beta program reserved for a limited number of users. To take advantage of this feature, you will also need to use the Samsung Health app in version 6.30.2 or later.
One UI 8 Watch adds a sleep coach, a vascular stress indicator, and antioxidant monitoring to Samsung smartwatches
Among the new features, the Bedtime Guidance function analyzes the last three nights to suggest an optimal bedtime. It takes into account the user's sleep pressure and biological rhythm. Even in the case of irregular schedules, it adjusts its recommendations. This function requires Android 11 or later. It aims to improve the quality of rest, a factor increasingly monitored in health applications.
The Vascular Load function measures the stress on the vascular system during sleep. It combines data related to rest, physical activity, and daily stress. This advanced monitoring is reserved for the Galaxy Watch Ultra and subsequent models. For its part, the Running Coach provides real-time advice to help you train better, but it requires at least a Galaxy Watch 7.
Finally, the Antioxidant Index evaluates carotenoids (natural antioxidants) via an optical sensor located on the back of the watch, available only on the Galaxy Watch Ultra. This unique measurement provides insight into nutritional balance. These tools reinforce the Galaxy watches' role in health monitoring, but remain reserved for the most recent models in the range.
