The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are coming soon, and Samsung has already started teasing them. Their design promises to be thinner and lighter than ever. A famous leaker has just revealed when they will be officially unveiled.
The next generation of foldable smartphones from Samsung is becoming clearer. For several weeks, the brand has been talking about a new model that is thinner, lighter, and designed to last. Industrial drawings leaked at the end of May show a Galaxy Z Fold 7 that has never been seen before, measuring only 9 mm thick when folded. This new format aims for improved portability, without compromising on durability. The official teaser confirms a sleek silhouette, without revealing too many technical details.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to accompany the Z Fold 7 with a design very similar to its predecessor. But this new version would be distinguished by a larger battery, estimated at 4,300 mAh compared to 4,000 mAh on the previous model. For its part, the Fold 7 would retain a 4,400 mAh battery. No major changes are expected in terms of power or screen, but Samsung seems focused on optimizing the existing battery. Several sources are also suggesting the joint arrival of new Galaxy Watches and Tab S11 tablets.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 will be released earlier than expected
According to leaker Evan Blass on X, Samsung will hold its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9 at 4 p.m. (French time). The announcement will reportedly be made in New York, although this has not been officially confirmed. This date is earlier than the usual launches of foldable models, which often fall in late July or early August. This choice would allow the brand to gain a bit of a head start over Honor and Oppo, whose competing foldables are expected in the same period.
Pre-orders should open as soon as the conference ends, with trade-in offers and discounts. The device is scheduled to go on sale at the end of the month. In comparison, the Honor Magic V3 has a 5,150 mAh battery and the Oppo Find N5 has a 5,600 mAh battery, which remains a competitive advantage. Samsung is therefore banking on a refined design, a durable construction and an early launch to maintain its position in the foldable smartphone market.
