Each day has its own trouble, each year has its own price increase on Spotify! The world's number 1 platform had raised its prices in France in May 2024, due to what it called the "streaming tax." It's the same story again a year later, this time without the justification of a new tax. Spotify has warned its Premium customers that a new increase will hit their wallets.
Listening to music, an expensive passion
In detail, the price of the Personal plan increases to €12.14 per month (+€1.02); the Student plan is now set at €7.07 per month (+€1). The Duo subscription is billed at €17.20, or €1.50 more. Finally, the Family plan is now at €21.24, which represents an increase of €3.03. An increase of between 9% and 16% overall, to "continue to innovate in changing market conditions", Spotify tries to explain.
The site iGeneration notes the existence of a new family subscription at €18.21: offered to current customers of the Family offer, this offer called "Basic Family" still allows 6 people from the same household to connect to the service, but without the 12 hours per month of listening to audiobooks.
This umpteenth increase comes at a time when Spotify has still not launched its Music Pro offer, which should take the form of a pricing option added to a premium subscription. It is expected to arrive this year, four years after the first announcement.
