Very often, Steam offers free games to all its users, when they're not titles that can be played for free for a limited time or even newly released free-to-play titles. There's always a way to find good deals on the platform, and every opportunity is a good one. And if there's one recurring event year after year, it's Pride Month. An entire month dedicated to celebrating love, peace, and all the colors that define humanity. During this period, a game is offered for free every year to celebrate the event. So, this is the time to head to Steam to take advantage of it. Added to this is another UFO that risks leaving traces, but not necessarily good ones.
An excellent free game offered on Steam and you can keep it for life
This game has become the symbol of the festivities. Developed by Dontnod (Life is Strange, Lost Record Bloom & Rage, Jusant) it's Tell me Why, one of the first games where you play a transgender character. In this narrative adventure released in 2020, we follow two twins Tyler and Alyson. Two young adults who are looking for answers to many questions hidden during their childhood. It is in a small Alaskan town that they will try to discover the truth by using the unique bond that unites them against a backdrop of supernatural power.
A game praised by critics for its deeply human and intimate writing, even if the old demons of DontNod are never far away, like a sawtooth technique or slightly tense characters. On Steam, Tell me Why is very well rated with an overall rating of "rather positive" for several thousand reviews. Embracing the episodic format, very trendy at the time, Tell me Why is divided into three parts. All are currently free on Steam and until July 1, 2025. So you still have a good month to get your hands on this free game, which you might really like if you enjoy well-crafted narrative games.
Another free game to relax
Finally, in a completely different vein, another free game is available on Steam right now, but it won't please everyone. This is a title that's clearly less ambitious than Tell Me Why, and while it will certainly leave its mark, it's not in your mind. We're talking about A Story About Farting, a game about... farting. The game takes the form of a silly and nasty clicker in which you fart and burp in succession, thus unlocking other characters who will come and do the same thing and so on.
While the experience should obviously be taken with a pinch of salt, the developers are trying to sell their baby (not without humor) as a narrative game about intestinal gas in which we can meet interesting characters. In reality, you'll be farting for a few hours to unlock almost 100% without forcing yourself. A Story about Farting is available for free on Steam until June 2 at 7 p.m..
