Attention PC gamers, a new game is free on Steam, but for a limited time only. An effective way to expand your library at a lower cost, since you don't have to pay a single cent. The downside is that you need a Steam account. But if you're here, that's probably the case.
A PC game to grab for free on Steam
No AAA on the menu or even an excellent indie RPG on the menu for this Tuesday, June 17, 2025, but a certain Paradox Soul. Sold as a mix between Metroidvania and pixel action-shooter, Paradox Soul invites you to play as Dr. Alli Rose, a researcher who stumbles upon a strange testing center.
But this scientist isn't going to turn back and will try to unravel the mysteries of this mysterious research center. And his journey will not be easy, since a mysterious evil will stand before him all along. Luckily, Rose has a powerful armada at his disposal.
A retro pixel art aesthetic, poss fights, typical Metroidvania abilities that will allow you to unlock hidden places, a myriad of upgrades, a strange world, on paper, Paradox Soul has it all. However, with only 46% positive ratings out of around forty reviews, the game has failed to win over its audience.
However, it is free. Usually listed at €4.99, Paradox Soul is waiting to be tested. The reviews are harsh, but some players have given it a chance anyway. If you're feeling altruistic, Paradox Soul is free until Tuesday, June 17, 2025, 5 p.m.
Still want to add it to your library? It's very simple, just go to the game's Steam page and click the big green button. Once that's done, Paradox Soul will appear in your library and will remain available there, barring any force majeure.
