Stellar Blade coming soon to Nintendo Switch 2… and its sequel too?

Stellar Blade is no longer a PS5 exclusive since its launch on PC on June 11. This new version allows you to experience the EVE adventure in even better conditions, provided you have a sufficiently powerful machine. On PC, Stellar Blade benefits from NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR 3, and supports ultra-wide (21:9) and super ultra-wide (32:9) resolutions.

The critically acclaimed Shift Up title could be coming to a new platform. No, it's not the Xbox Series X, unfortunately for console owners. Stellar Blade is expected to arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 soon.

Shift Up is reportedly preparing a port of Stellar Blade for the Nintendo Switch 2

Korean media outlet PlayForum reveals that Shift Up has received a Nintendo Switch 2 development kit and is working on a port of Stellar Blade for the new machine. The studio is reportedly carrying out very specific optimization work to ensure its very ambitious A-RPG runs smoothly on Nintendo Switch 2.

PlayForum does not mention a release date for this version of Stellar Blade. We certainly shouldn't expect it to see the light of day before 2026. Shift Up has a lot on its plate right now. The Korean studio will continue to follow Stellar Blade, particularly on PC, while developing the Switch 2 version.

Remember that Shift Up recently announced that a sequel to Stellar Blade was in development. It could arrive as early as 2027. Will it be a PS5 exclusive? Maybe not. "I think you can expect cross-platform work in our future works," studio director Hyung-tae Kim recently told Korean media outlet This Is Game.

Stellar Blade 2 could distinguish itself from the first game by a more impactful narrative, something the studio could not afford for the first game.

"Early in development, we planned to include detailed backgrounds in the story, such as the reason why the main character changed clothes, but as we progressed, the cost of making cutscenes became too high, and ultimately, we were forced to cut cutscenes that complemented the worldview or character narrative outside of the main plot for efficiency reasons," reveals Hyung-tae Kim.
