Three years after its season 4, the seriesStranger Thingswill therefore return at the end of 2025, thus putting an end to the many rumors announcing a postponement to 2026. While the penultimate season was divided into two parts, Netflix and the Duffer brothers have this time opted for a season 5 in three blocks : the first four episodes will be released on November 28, 2025, the next three episodes will be available on December 25, and the final episode will arrive on December 31. The company with the red N seems to have decided to reinforce the event dimension of the series finale by sticking to the end-of-year holiday calendar. A good idea, as this period is conducive to nostalgia!

At the beginning of the trailer, Joyce Byers (played by the excellent Winona Ryder) talks with her son Will and remembers his disappearance at the beginning of season 1, which was the trigger for the fantastical intrigues that disrupted the tranquility of the town of Hawkins. This is followed by images of the most iconic scenes from the first four seasons. A way for Netflix to remind us that season 5 will see all these storylines come to a close in its finale.

After giving pride of place to the most memorable scenes from the first four seasons, the end of the trailer is composed entirely of images from season 5. Without dialogue, we can see the various characters in bad situations: Joyce, armed with an axe, tries to protect her loved ones from danger from outside, Max is still in a coma, Mike acts protectively with a group of terrified children, while a slab opens in front of soldiers from the Upside Down. Finally, the trailer ends with Will Byers yelling "RUN" at an off-screen monster. This final shot obviously echoes a cult scene from season 1, during which Will used lights to deliver the same message to his mother.

Autumn 1987. Hawkins is marked by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single objective: to find and kill Vecna. But he's gone—his location and plans are unknown.

Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will's disappearance approaches, a heavy, familiar fear sets in. The final battle looms—and with it, a darkness more powerful and deadly than anything they've faced before.

To end this nightmare, they'll need everyone—the whole group—together, one last time.
