Stranger Things Season 5 Breaks Record Months Before Release

Stranger Things Season 5 Breaks Record Months Before Release

Stranger Things season 5 isn't coming out until the end of November 2025, and yet it just broke a record on Netflix. It only took 4 days to set it. We'll explain exactly what it's all about.

Stranger Things Season 5 Breaks Record Months Before Release

Fans' patience is being tested. Like many series, Stranger Things was hit hard by the writers' and actors' strike in 2023. The teams then had no choice: they stopped filming and inevitably, the release date of the fifth and final season was pushed back. A long wait followed before finally learning that it was finally over, the cameras were restarted and the adventures of Dusting, Mike, Eleven and the others resumed.

But filming the scenes that would make up the final 8 episodes wasn't enough. Then came the post-production stage. It wasn't until May 31, 2025, that we finally learned the release date for Stranger Things season 5. Or rather, the release dates. Just to further tease us, there would be three separate release periods. Episodes 1 to 4 on November 27, 2025, then 5 to 7 on December 26, and finally the 8th and final episode on January 2, 2026. In the meantime, the series is breaking records.

Stranger Things season 5 already has an impressive record to its name

The media Variety informs us that in 4 days, the video announcing the release date of Stranger Things season 5 has accumulated 250 million impressions across all Netflix channels. For the streaming service, this is an absolute record for a similar video with the same amount of time in existence. Note that we are not the country that has driven the score up. On the Netflix France YouTube channel, the video has accumulated 60,000 views after 5 days. Published at the same time, the trailer for season 3 of Squid Games already has 678,000 views.

We'll have to wait several more months before knowing if French viewers have grown tired of The Upside Down, or if the craze will resume once the first episodes are available. And if you need to refresh your memory, take a look at our report on season 5 of Stranger Things.
