Summer Game Fest 2025: A recap of the best announcements from this edition

That's it, the first act of the Summer Game Fest is officially launched. Since the beginning of the week, we've been treated to the first conferences. During this first act, no fewer than 16 conferences are scheduled, while waiting for the second act, at the end of August with Gamescom.

An intense and busy week, since the 16 conferences will be held over six days with no fewer than 13 conferences planned between June 6 and 9. Don't hesitate to discover our file with the list of all the conferences, the dates, times and the links to follow them live.

To not miss any of the main announcements of this 2025 edition of the Summer Game Fest, here is our summary of the best revelations.

  • Creation of the file: June 5, 2025
  • Last update: June 5, 2025

The Witcher IV

  • Conference: State of Unreal (June 3, 2025 at 3:30 p.m.)
  • First announcement: No
  • Release date: N/A
  • Supports: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S

The Witcher IV was officially unveiled last December at The Game Awards 2024 ceremony. Opening the Summer Game Fest with the State of Unreal conference, organized by Epic Games to promote the new features of their Unreal Engine, CD Projekt Red gave us a new glimpse of its future game.

It is important to note that this preview is a technical demo in the universe of The Witcher IV and not a gameplay preview of the game. However, it is still quite impressive and allows us to have a taste of the possibilities of the Unreal Engine 5 engine and the things that we could have in the game at the time of its release. CD Projekt Red has specified that the game is aiming for 60 FPS on PS5 Standard.

Pragmata

  • Conference: State of Play (June 4, 2025 at 11:00 PM)
  • First announcement: No
  • Release date: 2026
  • Supports: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S

Capcom's famous Pragmata is revealed again this week at Summer Game Fest, during Sony's State of Play. What's on the agenda? We don't know more, with a game that's still as enigmatic as ever, but which seems to offer a rather breathtaking universe. Capcom promises us a science fiction action and adventure game with a unique blend of action and strategy. The date is now set for 2026.

Silent Hill f

  • Conference: State of Play (June 4, 2025 at 11:00 p.m.)
  • First announcement: No
  • Release date: September 25, 2025
  • Supports: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S

Konami took advantage of Sony's State of Play to offer us a great presentation of Silent Hill f with, as a bonus, a relatively close release date. Indeed, the game is expected for September 25 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

However, we don't know much about the title. Konami is selling us a separate game in the Silent Hill franchise, which will therefore not take place in the famous city, but in Japan. This opus should be a new psychological survival-horror game (like Silent Hill 2). The new trailer with gameplay sequences shows us a game that seems to have a pretty crazy atmosphere and a strong emphasis on the horror side. This is promising!

Nioh 3

  • Conference: State of Play (June 4, 2025 at 11:00 p.m.)
  • First announcement: Yes
  • Release date: Early 2026
  • Supports: PS5

The famous Nioh franchise is back with a third opus expected on PS5 in early 2026! The first information about the game suggests a title that will allow you to experience the rise of a heroic Shogun. This opus will offer you the opportunity to fight using two distinct fighting styles: Samurai and Ninja. With the aim of facing formidable yokai in an open and intense environment.

Nioh 3 is the latest installment in the dark samurai action RPG series, a demo is already available on the PlayStation Store.

Swords of the Sea

  • Conference: State of Play (June 4, 2025 at 11:00 p.m.)
  • First announcement: No
  • Release date: August 19, 2025
  • Supports: PS5

Giant Squid, the developers of Journey and Abzu, are looking forward to the release of their new game, Sword of the Sea, on August 19. Get ready to explore a mysterious and visually stunning world. An atmospheric adventure with fast-paced movements inspired by skateboarding games. Surf a surreal wave landscape with your Hoversword and discover a lost ocean teeming with life.

The game will be directly integrated into the PlayStation Plus catalog when it releases on August 19.

007: First Light

  • Conference: State of Play (June 4, 2025 at 11:00 p.m.)
  • First announcement: Yes
  • Release date: 2026
  • Supports: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S

More than four years after its announcement, IO Interactive's famous Project 007 has finally shown itself. A first glimpse of 007: First Light, which will arrive in 2026, reveals a game halfway between Uncharted 4 and Hitman, but under the James Bond license. This title will immerse us in the shoes of a young James Bond who is just beginning his spy career. A resourceful and sometimes reckless young recruit, within the MI6 training program, allowing us to discover the origin story of the world's most famous spy.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

  • Conference: State of Play (June 4, 2025 at 11:00 p.m.)
  • First announcement: Yes
  • Release date: 2026
  • Supports: PC, PS5

The game is expected to allow us to control numerous characters from the Marvel universe and have a relatively rich content. The title is being developed by the young PlayStation Studio: Arc System Works.
