Tesla: the new Model Y is finally eligible for the ecological bonus

After a series of misadventures and ever more alarming sales figures (only 700 cars sold in May), this is news that Tesla should welcome with relief. The Model Y, its star SUV and incidentally the best-selling car in the world two years ago, is officially eligible for the government bonus. Indeed, the new list of electric vehicles eligible for government aid was published this Thursday, June 19; it includes the new version of Tesla's SUV.

It must be said that, since the facelift at the end of last year (which initially affected the most expensive models, not eligible for the bonus), the decision has been long overdue, particularly among customers who were unsure about the ideal timing for their purchase. The reason for this hesitation? The need to validate the new eco-score of a Model Y now produced in Germany, in the Berlin Gigafactory.

Tesla sales finally on the rise?

This bonus is of course not insignificant insofar as it represents a rebate of €2,000 or €4,000, depending on the household's taxable income. Its absence in recent months would partly explain the decline in the manufacturer's sales in France. Indeed, between January and May, registrations of new Teslas fell by 47% in France.

As of today, the price of the Tesla Model Y (2025) Propulsion increases to 40,990 euros with the maximum bonus. Other good news for buyers: the Long Range Propulsion version (622 km WLTP) is also eligible for the bonus for a minimum price of 42,990 euros.
