Scheduled for a theatrical release on March 24, 2027, the live-action version of The Legend of Zelda is still a long time coming... Time for Nintendo to concoct a perfect cast? The Japanese multinational has reportedly found its Zelda, which you can discover here, and this actor would be perfect to play Link alongside her!
The Legend of Zelda, a film eagerly awaited by fans
Announced several years ago, the live-action version of the video games The Legend of Zelda is long overdue. Fans have been imagining the cast for years, and many names have been mentioned over time - you can find several actors imagined in Link's costume here. Nintendo will choose fairly young actors to play the main characters, Link and Zelda, in order to remain consistent with the game. But rather than choosing Tom Holland for the role of the pointy-eared hero, as rumors had been suggesting for several months, it would be better to choose a lesser-seen (and seen again) face. And why Mason Thames, the headliner of the live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon?
Mason Thames, the perfect Link?
At 17, Mason Thames has his first leading role in the live-action How to Train Your Dragon (whose sequel has already been announced), four years after starring in Scott Derrickson, Black Phone. And according to some rumors, he's already on Nintendo's shortlist to play Link... A coherent choice: when he's first introduced in the games, Link is presented as a young man, not yet an adult, which fits well with the actor's age. Additionally, the character is an ordinary boy, which fits with the actor's "average" teenage physique.

Within the scope With Mason Thames still at the dawn of his career, Nintendo could land a very promising actor before he becomes too in demand. Compared to a star like Tom Holland, his fee would also be much more reasonable...
