Nintendo Switch 2 owners are experiencing a problem with the console's Joy-Con. After the one that affected the Switch 1, we fear the worst, but it's not the same problem.
Those of you who own or have owned the first Nintendo Switch, you surely remember a problem that caused a lot of talk at the time. “Joy-Con drift,” this scourge that affected a lot of players, ultimately forcing Nintendo to react officially in the absence of a definitive solution to the problem. As a reminder, it was a random, parasitic movement of the joystick of the controllers, making your character move when you were not touching anything.
When the Nintendo Switch 2 arrived, many remembered it and hoped that it would be nothing more than a bad memory. It is clear that this is the case, at least about 3 weeks before the console's release. It's not without its flaws, though, as evidenced by these players who notice that the battery of their new Switch 2 is swollen. And since misfortune never comes alone, attention is now once again turning to the Joy-Con.
There is clearly a problem with the Nintendo Switch 2's Joy-Con
Let's just say it right away, this isn't a new "Joy-Con drift" that some people are dealing with. On the social network Reddit, in a since-deleted post, user IcyBoi23 complains about two things. The first is that the left controller's joystick seems stuck down. Not physically, but it's as if the player is holding it in that direction. The second is visible in the photo below: the left Joy-Con is shown as disconnected even though it's properly connected. Its battery is not the cause, we see that it is charged.
Other people have since come forward to say that they are encountering one or other of these bugs, the origin of which is currently unknown. In terms of proposed solutions, this ranges from recalibrating the Joy-Con to resetting them via the Switch 2 settings, to of course contacting Nintendo's customer service. Note that at the time of writing, no one has come forward to say whether the first two manipulations work or not.
