OnePlus's next smartphone could shake up the Android market. A leak suggests a record-breaking battery, a new design, and a reworked zoom. Samsung has reason to worry about its future Galaxy phones.
As rumors surrounding the Galaxy S26 multiply, it's OnePlus that steals the show. The manufacturer is reportedly preparing a radically different model, focusing on bold technical choices. For several months, the Chinese brand has been positioning itself as a credible alternative to the market leaders. And with its future OnePlus 15, it could meet certain expectations that the major manufacturers are still ignoring, particularly in terms of battery life.
According to the leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the OnePlus 15 would have a battery of at least 7000 mAh. That's 2100 mAh more than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and almost double that of a Galaxy S25 Edge, limited to 3900 mAh. This capacity could allow for several days of mixed-use usage, a strong argument against competitors often criticized for their limited battery life. This choice suggests that OnePlus could adopt denser and more compact silicon-carbon batteries, already mentioned for 2025 in certain Asian models.

The battery is not the only striking element. The OnePlus 15 would also offer a flat 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Elite chip, as well as a new extremely matte “SuperBlack” color. This deep black would give the phone a visual appearance close to a “black hole,” according to the leaker’s description. There would also be two customizable side buttons, a feature already present on other high-end models in 2025.
On the photo side, a multi-stage periscopic telephoto lens is also mentioned, with a new, more compact sensor. Although few details are known, this configuration would aim to maintain a good optical zoom without weighing down the camera unit. At the same time, OnePlus could definitively abandon its partnership with Hasselblad, and develop its own photo signature. By focusing on autonomy, optimization and strong visual choices, the OnePlus 15 could well be ahead of Samsung in concrete aspects, where the competition is still struggling to evolve.
