The white sauce ink kebab pen becomes a reality

The white sauce ink kebab pen becomes a reality

When a joke goes viral, it can also become real. Following the success of its April Fool's Day 2025 joke, BIC has just announced the commercialization of the kebab pen presented on social networks a few weeks ago. The “Döner KeBIC” promised to offer its users a writing experience that was nothing short of immersive, with inks scented with salad, tomato, onion, and chef's white sauce.

The joke didn't take long to take shape, as the manufacturer announced the production of this initially fictitious pen less than two weeks later. Here we are two months later and BIC has just officially announced the release date of the “Döner KeBIC”, which will eventually be accompanied by other models also inspired by fast food.

Kebab, burger and pizza, but without the smells!

After asking the opinion of future buyers on its social networks, BIC has finally decided to produce two other pens. “Two classics stood out” the brand states in its Instagram story: the “Iconic Food” collection will therefore be completed by burger and pepperoni pizza models.

Unfortunately, even if this April Fool’s joke is about to come out “for real”, the brand adds that it is “sparing us the onion smell”. As you will have understood, these pens will not offer scented inks as indicated in the original joke. They will therefore be BIC 4 colors, completely ordinary, with the exception of the prints on the bottom of the pens.

How to order the “Iconic Food” pens?

The collection of unusual pens will be marketed from June 27th. The three models will be offered in a box on sale on the brand's official website. Given the craze for these offbeat products, it is not impossible that a stock shortage will occur very quickly. Geeks who miss these April Fool's BICs can always fall back on other pop culture collections on sale in the official store, such as those dedicated to Asterix or Assassin's Creed.
