A cybersecurity firm has discovered that 20 Android apps accessible from the Play Store are highly dangerous. If you have installed one or more, delete them immediately.
No matter how hard Google tries to make the Android Play Store a 100% secure platform, there's always someone who slips through the net. Unfortunately, it's not impossible that millions of users download malware while believing they're installing a legitimate app on their smartphone. The Mountain View firm regularly cleans up when it notices that certain applications are dangerous. Often, it spots them itself, sometimes it is warned by others.
This time, it's the cybersecurity experts at Cyble who are sounding the alarm. They've discovered several that you wouldn't suspect at first glance. However, they're looking to steal money from you. More specifically, cryptocurrencies. Opening them lands you on a fake website that will ask for access to your wallet, in this case, your mnemonic phrase. Most often by pretending there's a problem with your funds or some kind of error.
Quickly uninstall these Android apps available on the Play Store, they're malware
In total, researchers found 20 apps imitating real services, but whose sole purpose is to steal your cryptocurrencies. Here they are, accompanied by their package name, which allows you to distinguish them from the real thing. If you don't see the entire table, click Next to see the rest of the list:
| Application name | Package name |
|---|---|
| Pancake Swap | co.median.android.pkmxaj |
| Suiet Wallet | co.median.android.ljqjry |
| Hyperliquid | co.median.android.jroylx |
| Raydium | co.median.android.yakmje |
| Hyperliquid | co.median.android.aaxblp |
| BullX Crypto | co.median.android.ozjwka |
| OpenOcean Exchange | co.median.android.ozjjkx |
| Suiet Wallet | co.median.android.mpeaaw |
| Meteora Exchange | co.median.android.kbxqaj |
| Raydium | co.median.android.epwzyq |

| Pancake Swap | co.median.android.djrdyk |
| Hyperliquid | co.median.android.epbdbn |
| Suiet Wallet | co.median.android.noxmdz |
You'll notice that some names appear multiple times. This means these apps have been copied multiple times. Cyble's teams also spotted two other apps with different package names. However, their goal remains the same: to make you lose money. These are Raydium (cryptoknowledge.rays) and PancakeSwap (com.cryptoknowledge.quizzz). They have all since been removed from the Play Store.
If you have installed one of these apps, delete them immediately and check your cryptocurrency wallet. Also, run a malware scan on your smartphone to eliminate any possible traces of malware.
