We finally have an idea of the actor who will take on the role of Black Panther in the cinema (and it's a good surprise)

What if Marvel Studios introduced a new Black Panther into its Marvel Cinematic Universe? It's the rumor of the moment, and one actor has been at the center of fan discussion for some time now. Today, he's officially reacting. While he hasn't confirmed talks with Marvel Studios, he does express his desire to inherit the role.

We finally have an idea of the actor who will take on the role of Black Panther in the cinema (and it's a good surprise)

Marvel Studios had big ambitions for the character of Black Panther. After introducing him in Civil War in 2016, the character was given a solo film in 2018, then participated in the Infinity War/Endgame series in 2018/2019. Sadly, the man who played him, the talented Chadwick Boseman, passed away in 2020, a victim of cancer.

An unfortunate event that forced Marvel Studios to change its plans. Out of respect for the actor (and to avoid alienating fans), the choice was made to accommodate Boseman's absence for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. T'challa died in the opening minutes of the film, and his sister Shuri took over. But time passes and things change. So, rumors of a recasting are becoming more and more insistent, and we know who could put on the costume again.

Black Panther could have a new face in the cinema

For several weeks, rumors have been rife about a recast of Black Panther, and one name is circulating: that of Damson Idris. The British actor is currently starring in the film F1 with Brad Pitt, and is therefore on a promotional tour. Obviously, the question of his future at Marvel Studios often comes up, and sometimes he gives a few clues.

As a guest on NBC's morning show, Today, Damson Idris played the yes or no game. And he half-heartedly confirmed that he had discussed with the house of ideas. "There are rumors that you could play the new Back Panther. Have you had any discussions about that?" asked the presenter. To which Idris replied "yes/no." And the presenter followed up, looking amused, "In those cases, no means yes!" Then he was asked "if they (Marvel) asked you, would you say yes?" and Idris replied "Yes."

So nothing is set in stone yet, but rumors are becoming increasingly pressing around the actor. The question of the character's return remains, whose death was staged and digested in the MCU. The answer to this puzzle is already clear: the multiverse. This is how the X-Men returned, for example, and Robert Downey Jr. came back as Dr. Doom.
