Windows 11 is receiving an unexpected update ahead of the next Patch Tuesday. It's packed with a big surprise for gamers and unlocks over 30 new features. Some features are already accessible, but you have to know where to look.
Every month, Microsoft releases a series of patches for Windows as part of what is called “Patch Tuesday.” This regular event, scheduled every second Tuesday of the month, aims to improve the security and stability of the system. But some editions also bring more visible changes. The June 2025 release promises to be one of the most important in several months, with a mix of fixes and concrete new features for users.
Before their general release, these updates are first tested by volunteers via the Windows Insider program. This free program is open to everyone: simply activate the option in the Windows system settings, under “Windows Update,” then choose the Release Preview channel. This allows you to try out future final updates a few days before their official release. The KB5058499 build, recently made available to testers, will be rolled out to everyone around Tuesday, June 11, 2025.
Windows 11 adds more than 30 new features in the KB5058499 update
The most anticipated fix concerns a bug that appeared with the 24H2 build of Windows 11. Some games were becoming completely frozen or unresponsive. After several reports, Microsoft acknowledged that the problem was caused by the system's graphics core. It has now been fixed. This update also improves the performance of certain titles, according to the official notes published by the publisher.
At the same time, this update adds more than 30 improvements throughout the system. The Copilot assistant becomes more accessible thanks to new keyboard shortcuts. File sharing has been simplified, notably with a drop bar on the desktop. The Click to Do tool now allows you to summarize, rephrase, or transform text into a list. Windows Search better recognizes queries written in everyday language. On the accessibility side, Narrator can describe images with the help of AI. Finally, fine-tuning has been made to audio, Bluetooth, the taskbar, and HDR management for videos.
