The German Gamescom trade show will be back this year from August 20th to 24th. Like every year, it will be the largest European video game trade show, just ahead of Paris Games Week. But, unlike the French show, Gamescom has a much more professional focus with a press area and a big opening conference (Opening Night Live) that always has some nice surprises in store for us.
After a lackluster Summer Game Fest, we can't wait to discover this new event, which has been offering us great things for the past few years. Last month, Nintendo confirmed its return to Gamescom in person. This is a real event since it has been many years since the manufacturer last went to Cologne.
Today, it is Xbox that confirms its presence after having skipped the Summer Game Fest.
Xbox: games and accessories at Gamescom?
Although Microsoft confirmed a few days ago that a new console was in the works, in partnership with AMD, it There's little chance we'll get a glimpse of the latter next month. However, the American company will have plenty to dazzle us with, for example, the new Asus ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X portable consoles (expected for late 2025). Rumors suggest the arrival of a Meta Quest3S Xbox Edition VR headset, which could also be shown.
Besides consoles and accessories, Xbox will have a lot to show us on the gaming side. During its conference at the Summer Game Fest, the American manufacturer announced around ten titles that are expected for the end of 2025. A good twenty games if we count those expected for the beginning of 2026.
Microsoft could therefore present us, in addition to portable consoles and accessories, new previews of games like High on Life 2, Call of Duty Black Ops 7, Keeper, Planet of Lana 2 – Children of the Leaf, The Outer Worlds 2 or even the next game A Plague Tale: Resonance.
