You like video games, but solo adventures are too little for you? Even in multiplayer, not all games are the same. If you have a preference for those that are playable in cooperation, rather than in PvP (at war with other players), 2024 is going to be an interesting year. Many cooperative games, sometimes local, are expected in the coming months. We share with you the 6 that particularly caught our attention.
Nightingale
After Palworld and Enshrouded released earlier this year, Nightingale is surely going to have its moment of glory. This upcoming survival game, developed by Inflexion Games, promises us adventures between magic and science, with an almost steampunk atmosphere. Like its peers, the principle is to explore, build your base and gain striking power to face external dangers. Portals lead you to different worlds, populated by hostile creatures. Nightingale will be available in early access from February 20 on PC.
Towerborne
The studio behind the Banner Saga franchise is back with a new banger. Towerborne is an exploration and action game in which you must protect the Belfry and its inhabitants from the monsters that attack them. You play as a Champion, that is to say a being returned from the spirit world. It is a real open world of fantasy that is offered to you, in a cooperation of up to 4 different players. If it is supposed to be released in 2024, we do not yet know on what date exactly. It will however be available on Xbox Series, Xbox Game Pass and PC.
Light No Fire
Still in the realm of exploration, Light No Fire is an upcoming entry that aims to mix classic adventure with a sandbox-style survival experience. In this vast universe, approximately the size of Earth, you must build sustainable buildings and communities by teaming up with players from around the world. The title is truly free, procedural and large-scale. The studio has not revealed a release date, but it is expected this year.
Little Nightmares III
After two successful first installments, Little Nightmares is back with an exceptional third game. For the first time, the entire game will be playable in local co-op. Two children, Low and Alone, share the spotlight in environments that are always as nightmarish as we admire their artistic direction. For the moment, no release date has been made official. Little Nightmares III is expected on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Ark 2
Largely inspired by the gameplay of Ark, Palworld has been a success since its release. There is no doubt that the return of the original franchise should make noise. Ark 2 will further highlight its survival game aspect while taking up the elements that made the first game famous. Vin Diesel will be the main protagonist of this new adventure in the role of survivalist Riddick. Players will still be able to play their character in third person, as well as ride dinosaurs reworked for the new generation. It also doesn't have a specific date, but should be released this year on Xbox and PC.
33 immortals
If in 2024 we expect the famous Hades II, a game whose artistic direction reminds us of that of Supergiant Games will also see the light of day. 33 Immortals is a roguelike largely inspired by MMORPG raid battles. In this game, you and 32 other players face huge waves of enemies. A bit like in a battle royale, each death is final and whoever can survive until the end of the game. We imagine that the winners will receive special prizes.
