A rotary crown and solid autonomy for the OnePlus Watch 3

A rotary crown and solid autonomy for the OnePlus Watch 3

OnePlus regularly delivers smartwatches that manage to stand out from the crowd thanks to careful work on the finishes and a good quality/price ratio. This was the case with the Watch 2, and it is likely that it will be the same with the brand new version just presented today, the OnePlus Watch 3 (we will wait for the 01lab test!).

Moving upmarket without exploding the price

Still available in a single size (46mm), the Watch 3 combines a stainless steel case with a titanium alloy bezel. The crown, which was only used for show on previous models, is finally rotating! It allows you to navigate through the menus, all with haptic feedback.

The 1.5-inch AMOLED screen (466x 466) has a maximum brightness of 2200 nits, and it is covered with a layer of synthetic sapphire against shocks. The watch is IP68 certified (water and dust resistance), and it will withstand shocks under 50 meters of water. Of course, it integrates a GPS that captures the L1 and L5 bands, which together allow for more precise location tracking.

In the health department, we are entitled to an ECG to perform an electrocardiogram, and hypochondriacs will be able to obtain a "health check" in 60 seconds which provides assessments on the ECG therefore, but also vascular health, heart rate or blood oxygen level. OnePlus also focuses on autonomy with a battery with a capacity of 631mAh, It ensures up to 5 days of normal use (and even 16 days with the energy saving mode).

Under the hood of the Watch 3 are two chips: the Snapdragon W5 and BES 2800, a dual architecture to optimize the battery. Everything runs on Wear OS. Two colors are offered (green or black) at the price of €299 for the pre-order — it will be €349 thereafter.
