On the evening of January 31 to February 1, Sony organized an amazing State of Play, containing more than 15 games. Among them, the sequel to the blockbuster Death Stranding which was revealed in a new 9-minute trailer. But the studio created by Hideo Kojima had even more surprises to share with us. Indeed, the creator appeared to announce a new license.
It is called Physint and will be developed in collaboration with Sony teams for the PlayStation. Hideo Kojima does not go into details, and does not show any images, which means that the title is surely at a very early stage of its conception. We do, however, know that it will be an action and espionage game, based on the latest version of the game. Kojima sauce obviously.
First Death Stranding 2
The developer's message is brief, but gives us some details on its probable release window. He specifies: “Yes, today I am pleased to announce that Kojima Productions is creating a brand new action and espionage game. Preparations are underway, but production will begin in earnest after Death Stranding 2.”
Knowing that Death Stranding 2 On The Beach is currently scheduled for this year, we can expect see Physint from 2026 at the earliest. In any case, it is excellent news to see that Hideo Kojima is returning to his favorite genre, as much for his fans as for himself and his creativity.
PlayStation, then Xbox, then PlayStation...
Hideo Kojima is definitely not the type to have to choose. After developing Death Stranding exclusively for PlayStation, the creator turned to Xbox to design O.D. and is now returning to Sony to dedicate his brand new title to it. And for good reason, this partnership can bring the developer much more than just support to run his works. He who is very focused on cinema and music, Sony is a multifaceted company that can greatly benefit the development of a game like this. He explains:
“We have a lot of experience with Sony Interactive Entertainment, since we have developed the action-espionage genre together for almost 30 years, and although most of our partnerships with Sony in the past have been on games, they also produce music and films, and this will undoubtedly be a cooperative collaboration.“
