Instagram is enriching its messaging service with several new features designed to improve the user experience. On the program: message translation, music sharing, sending scheduling, content pinning and QR codes for groups.

With the integrated translation function, Instagram wants to facilitate exchanges between users speaking different languages. Now, all you have to do is long-press on a message to bring up a translation option. The translated text will be displayed directly under the original message.
Meta's social network is also adding the ability to schedule the sending of messages at a specific date and time. Practical for organizing conversations, recalling events or even automating certain exchanges. To schedule a message, simply hold the send button and select the desired time before confirming the sending.
After introducing the pinning of conversations in the inbox, Instagram now allows you to pin individual messages within discussions. This feature is particularly useful for keeping important information or links. Each conversation can contain up to three pinned messages, editable at any time.

Another new feature: QR codes for group discussions. Now, each group can generate a unique QR code allowing new members to join the conversation without requiring a direct invitation. The administrator can refresh the code at any time to keep control of new additions. This option makes it easier to share and expand groups, especially for online communities or extended circles of friends.
Finally, users can now share music clips directly in their DMs thanks to a dedicated sticker. By selecting a song from Instagram’s music library, they can send a 30-second clip accompanied by a spinning vinyl animation.
A “I don’t like” button is currently being tested on Instagram
Instagram is currently testing a “I don’t like” button on comments, a move confirmed by Adam Mosseri, head of the platform. This button would allow users to express their disapproval privately, without displaying a public counter or notifying the author of the comment. The stated goal is to improve the moderation of exchanges by eventually integrating these signals into the comment ranking algorithm in order to relegate the most unpopular to the bottom of discussions.
If this feature were to be deployed, it could help make interactions healthier on Instagram, by giving users a discreet way to report content deemed inappropriate or harmful. However, the platform specifies that this is currently a simple test, with no guarantee of definitive adoption.
