Monster Hunter Wilds: What time the beta begins, know everything

It's time to celebrate for monster hunting aficionados. Seven years after its release in 2018, the ambitious Monster Hunter World – which marks the blockbuster turning point of the license – is finally getting a well-deserved sequel. Those who have bled Monster Hunter Rise dry these last four years will finally be able to get their teeth into something else. Monster Hunter Wilds will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on February 28. The last few weeks of waiting are always the longest, but Capcom has prepared a few surprises for its most impatient players. If you haven't had a chance to test the game yet: it's time to free up your next two weekends.

Six additional days of testing

After a first public test phase in November 2024, Capcom is taking advantage of the last moments before launch to put its game to the test one last time. A first beta weekend for Monster Hunter Wilds will take place on all platforms from Friday, February 7 at 4 a.m. (French time) to Monday, February 10 at 3:59 a.m. Those who are absent or who still want more will also be able to connect to the test version of the game from Friday, February 14 at 4:00 a.m. (French time) to Monday, February 17 at 3:59 a.m.

Please note that these new sessions will take place on the same build as last November. The performance and balancing improvements promised by the developers will be available when the full game is released. Hunters who participated in the first beta test will nevertheless be able to enjoy some new features, such as a mission against the Gypsceros or access to the base camp training area among other additional online features.

PC players have been heard

Over the next two weekends, hunters on the Steam version will still have to deal with mixed performance. But the final launch of Monster Hunter Wilds on this platform is shaping up to be much more enjoyable than expected. As promised by the developers, the minimum system requirements have been seen at the drop thanks to optimization efforts.

Previously, the game's spec sheet called for RTX 2070, RTX 4060, or Radeon RX 6700X GPUs to hope to enjoy 60 frames per second in Full HD. With the help of frame generation, the new comparison table now indicates a recommended configuration composed of RTX 2060 Super GPU or a Radeon RX 6600, accompanied by 16 GB of RAM and an SSD installation.

It is already possible to upgrade your machine to the test by downloading the new Monster Hunter Wilds Benchmark tool available from the Steam catalog. The difference with the beta is obvious, especially since further improvements can be made at launch and in the weeks to come. PC players can finally reach the game's release with peace of mind.
