After the presentations of PlayStation, Xbox, as well as the many partner conferences of the Summer Game Fest, it is Nintendo's turn to broadcast its summer show. E3 is no more but the festivities continue. Following many rumors concerning the broadcast of a possible Nintendo Direct this Tuesday, June 18, the Kyoto firm has just made the presentation official in a tweet. The manufacturer gives us an appointment in less than 24 hours - that is, tomorrow at 4 p.m. (French time) - for a live of around forty minutes which will reveal the latest new features coming to Switch. According to Nintendo's statement, this could well be the last conference before the presentation of the future console.
The Switch 2 with absent subscribers
Nintendo does not hesitate to put an end to speculation: the machine that will succeed the Nintendo Switch will not be the subject of any presentation during the Nintendo Direct on June 18, 2024. This information had already been relayed by Nintendo president - Suntaro Furukawa - in a previous tweet. No surprises, it will take a little longer before we learn more about this future console. The announcement will take place during this fiscal year, before March 2025. We can only hope that the reveal will take place before the end of the year, in order to guarantee a launch for the following year. For now, the Nintendo Switch still has a few surprises in store for us.
Leaks that suggest something (very) good
Since the rumors about this Nintendo Direct go back to A poorly indexed video of Among Us, the social deduction game will definitely be there tomorrow. However, this is not the kind of announcement that will make players swoon. A Chinese leaker specializing in Nintendo products made a name for himself on the Weibo forum by posting a reference to the Ace Attorney franchise. This information was reshared by Pyoro, a second renowned leaker, it would seem that an announcement concerning the franchise is on the agenda for the Direct. Now that all the main titles are available in two compilations, could it be that Capcom is preparing a new opus? Let's not get our hopes up too quickly: it could also be a collection of the spin-offs dedicated to Benjamin Hunter.
As for Hollow Knight: Silksong, fans have every interest in leveling their expectations. Since the partnership with Xbox for a day-one release in the Game Pass, it is very likely that future announcements will be reserved for this manufacturer. Unfortunately, the title was absent from this year's Showcase and will most certainly not be revealed during the Nintendo Direct. Still in the category of “improbable speculations“, will we finally discover ports of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD? These games forgotten in the limbo of the Wii U would deserve to be ported to Switch (and Switch 2), just like the famous Xenoblade Chronicles X whose return fans are eagerly awaiting.
