It's no secret that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be here soon. Announced on January 16, it will be revealed in more detail at the beginning of April with a dedicated presentation. This will be an opportunity to learn more about the games that will accompany the console, in addition to the new Mario Kart which was made official at the same time as the device.
If rumors are to be believed, the Nintendo Switch 2 will be much more powerful and should have the same technical capabilities as the PS4 Pro. Nintendo games, and third-party games, will therefore have to align their ambitions with these predictions by offering adventures that are even more accomplished, detailed and demanding than those available on the current Switch. For our part, here are 3 games that we would love to see on Nintendo Switch 2 at its launch.
Mario Kart 9
This is one of the only games officially announced by Nintendo and it is one of those that we are most looking forward to. Of course, the game system of Mario Kart has not changed much from one opus to another in the franchise, but it is a safe bet at next to which we would not pass for anything in the world. With each iteration, we are amazed to see the graphical improvements as well as the new gameplay mechanics that spice up the race over the years.
What particularly attracts us about Mario Kart 9 is its capacity to support races up to 24 players if we rely on the only trailer we have seen. We think that the mode will be mainly used during online multiplayer games, since local co-op will certainly be blocked at 4 players. In addition, we were treated to: some new races in the DLC of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe that make us think that the creative team behind the license still has a lot to show us in terms of circuit and overall user experience.
Super Mario Odyssey 2
Super Mario Odyssey was THE game of the Nintendo Switch at its launch. The title promised to revolutionize the entire Mario brand with a 3D adventure, innovative mechanics and a level design almost unique for a game in the franchise. Twirling at across the four corners of the world, the epic journey of Mario and his hat suddenly came to an end after one opus.
Since then, we have had no news of any sequel. However, it is one of our favorite games on the console. The open-world universe has the potential to be fully exploited by the new (presumed) power of the Nintendo Switch 2, so it would be a shame to deprive ourselves of it. However, we should make an effort on the storyline that does not break three legs a duck, even for its time.
Zelda 3
We end with an obvious game, surely awaited by millions of fans around the world. We are eagerly awaiting the sequel to the games Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Both games have particularly marked the history of the Nintendo Switch. With their cell-shading graphics and their rich open world, these two adventures have touched new players as well as long-time fans.
We could just as well want a new Zelda opus, completely unrelated of this specific branch of the franchise, but the success of these last two iterations reinforces the idea that a sequel may be in the works. What better way to end this story than with an epic triptych?
