The new Prime Video releases for June 2025 were relatively rich. A new, unreleased Prime Video series for June 2025 has arrived
In June 2025, Prime Video didn't just serve up rehash to its subscribers and also added the first season of We Liars. A suspense series adapted from the best-selling novel by E Lockhart. In the releases for the week of June 23 to 29, 2025, Amazon is also launching a second major new series exclusive to the video streaming platform, Countdown. A creation of Derek Haas, to whom we owe Chicago Fire and the spin-offs Chicago P.D, Chicago Med, Chicago Justice, and FBI: International.
To bring this promising Prime Video series to life, Derek Haas has surrounded himself with a very good cast, at least for the leading roles since they have been entrusted to Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, Gen V), Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy, Euphoria), and Jessica Camacho (Justified, Dexter). If these details already intrigue you, the first three episodes are available starting this Wednesday, June 25, 2025, on Amazon's SVOD service. The remaining ten will be available weekly, with an end date scheduled for September 3, 2025, on Prime Video.
Countdown, what's it about?
But actually, what's Countdown about? Like previous creations and productions, it's a police series set in Los Angeles. " When a Department of Homeland Security agent is murdered in broad daylight, Los Angeles police detective Mark Meachum (Jensen Ackles) is recruited to a secret team, alongside undercover agents from all branches of law enforcement, to lead the investigation. But the hunt for the killer soon uncovers a plot far more sinister than anyone could have imagined, kicking off a race against time to save a city of millions. As the trailer released by Prime Video shows, we can expect something muscular with action and probably some twists and turns. It's one of the releases of the week not to be missed on the platform.
