According to a new rumor, a Nintendo Direct in July 2025 is looming, and it's going to be a big one. Among the announcements, several ports are reportedly being made official for the Nintendo Switch 2, including Metaphor ReFantazio, Death Stranding Director's Cut, and perhaps even The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Now that the Big N console is on the market, we'll have to get used to seeing it share some of the games available on competing platforms like the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
A huge Nintendo Switch 2 game for October 2025?
Now that Mario Kart World is out, it will soon be Donkey Kong Bananza's turn to try and make the Nintendo Switch 2 shine. Indeed, this will be the second big exclusive not to be missed on the console. To fill the catalog, and give the manufacturer's internal teams time to develop their games, the machine will also have numerous ports, including Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4. Eventually, FF16 could even end up joining the line-up.
The list of Nintendo Switch 2 ports is long, and the next game from a cult franchise has reportedly leaked on the console. Head to Sweden and the retailer Proshop, which, for a while, posted a product sheet for a Switch 2 version of Digimon Story Time Stranger. The future big game in the Pokemon-competing franchise will let you play as two protagonists of your choice and get your hands on more than 450 different Digimon. It's already highly anticipated by fans, especially since the developers have taken the time to refine their baby.
So will Digimon Story Time Stranger be released on Nintendo Switch 2? At the time of writing, Bandai Namco has just announced a launch date of October 3, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Obviously, it's hard to see the Japanese publisher writing off the Big N's new console, especially given the appeal of this type of game on such a machine. However, for now, nothing has been confirmed, and there's a problem in that Proshop has removed all mention of Digimon Story Time Stranger on Nintendo Switch 2 from its website. A simple mistake on their part? Placeholder removed at Bandai Namco's request? Mystery...
