After Among Us and Among Us VR, here is Among Us 3D, a first-person view game, but without virtual reality. New hit in sight?
The Innersloth studio has made the release of Among Us 3D, the three-dimensional, first-person version of its popular multiplayer game that mixes teamwork and sabotage. For now, the title has only been announced for one platform: Steam, on PC. It is in fact a port of Among Us VR, with Among Us 3D being the same game, but without virtual reality.
The developers also announced that Among Us 3D and Among Us VR work in crossplay, meaning that PC players will be able to join games with players on Meta Quest, Steam VR, PlayStation VR 2 and PICO. These two titles are not compatible with the original Among Us in 2D.
A demo of Among Us 3D soon available
We find the fundamental operating principles of the basic game, with a crew of 4 to 10 players, one or more traitors to identify, and a native proximity voice chat. Innersloth promises new mini-games to vary the tasks to be carried out on the ship. Look customization options are also on the program, with a vast wardrobe of headgear, gloves and skins.
No release date has been announced for now, but we will soon be able to test this Among Us 3D, since a demo is planned for the next Steam Neo Fest, which takes place from February 24 to March 3, 2025. This version “does not include all the features or game modes that will be available at launch, such as crossplay compatibility with Among Us VR or additional cosmetics”, the studio specifies, but should give us a good overview of what's to come. what the gameplay looks like.
Released in 2018, Among Us would become a hit a few months after its launch, helped by the COVID-19 lockdown and Twitch streams. It costs €4.49, compared to €9.49 for Among Us VR. We can expect a similar price to the latter for Among Us 3D.
