Apple's official website welcomes a new addition to its list of devices for sale: the Lumon Terminal Pro. What is this strange, obviously old computer?
Those who have visited the Mac page of Apple's website recently may have raised an eyebrow in surprise. In the banner listing the various products, a new addition has appeared. On the far left, before the MacBook Air. It's called Lumon Terminal Pro, and its icon alone stands out from the rest. Clicking on it reveals the machine in all its splendor, confirming the initial intuition.
A screen displays an enigmatic message, while the keyboard is reminiscent of the early days of personal computing. The impression is reinforced when you notice that instead of a mouse, you clearly have to use a built-in ball. Why would Apple offer such a device? For nostalgics? Absolutely not. This computer has a completely different purpose.
The Lumon Terminal Pro visible on Apple's website is not what you think
Let's not beat around the bush: it is impossible to buy the Lumon Terminal Pro for the simple reason that it does not exist. Apple is actually advertising the series Severance broadcast on Apple TV+, in which we see the characters working on this machine. It is also a way of promoting Mac computers, the real ones, since clicking on the Watch the movie button below the photo of the Lumon launches a 12-minute video showing how the series was mounted on Mac precisely.

Note that this is not Apple's first attempt at advertising that mixes fiction and reality. On the social network LinkedIn, for example, you can find the Lumon Industries page, the fictional company in which much of the action of Severance takes place.
