Dexter: Rexurement formalizes the return of a character from New Blood

Everyone is busy behind the scenes preparing for Dexter's return to the small screen. Four years after New Blood, and while Dexter: Origins has just ended in France, Showtime still has a number of projects surrounding the serial killer in the pipeline. The next step? A series called Ressurection which, as its name suggests, will mark the antagonist's return to life.

Under the impetus of Clyde Phillips, the project will immerse viewers some time after the events of the finale of New Blood. As a reminder, the character had been wounded by a bullet and was thought to be dead by the audience. This was without taking into account the call of greenbacks. If the plot of Resurrection remains a mystery, we know that the character wakes up in New York, in a hospital and that he tries to find his son Harrison by all means. It was through a scene from the series Origins that this rebirth was made official.

A new actor joins the adventure

For several months, Michael C. Hall has been on the set and is busy revive the character he has played since 2006 on Showtime. And he won't be the only one returning to action, since the participation of an actor from New Blood has just been made official. Indeed, according to Deadline, David Magidoff will reprise his role as Teddy. It will be a recurring role, so he will be important to the plot. After all, Dexter killed his friend and colleague Logan, the police officer might want revenge and cause his downfall.

As a reminder, Michael C. Hall is particularly well surrounded for Dexter: Ressurection. The actor will play opposite Uma Thurman (Charley), Peter Dinklage (Leon Prater), Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (Blessing Kamara. Neil Patrick Harris will also be on the trip. The series is scheduled to hit our screens in the summer of 2025, so the teams only have a few weeks left to finalize production and start post-processing.

In a video shared a few weeks ago, Michael C. Hall said he was excited to share these new adventures with the public. “I'm on set, for the first day of Dexter: Resurrection. It's coming. I Looking forward to starting a new exciting journey and for you to experience it with us.”It remains to be seen whether the public will be there. Nearly two decades after its launch, does the brand still excite people? Especially after the controversial finale of the first series… Answer in a few months.
