In its March 2025 update, Android 15 introduced a very useful feature to be less bothered by notifications that come one after another. Here's how to enable it.
We all have that one friend who, for some obscure reason, prefers to send us 10 messages of 3 words each instead of just one longer one. And even if that's not the case, sometimes the participants in a group conversation you're part of get carried away and chat non-stop for several minutes. In either situation, your smartphone will start ringing repeatedly, preventing you from concentrating on what you're doing.

These are just two examples where you'd like a little peace and quiet, but without having to silence your phone and risk missing an important call. Google has you covered with an Android 15 option just rolled out with the update. March 2025 update: limiting notifications. We explain how to use it.
How to enable limiting notifications in Android 15
First of all, make sure that your smartphone has received the Android 15 March update, which is the latest one at the time of writing. Once this is done, activating the function is very simple:
- Go to the Settings application on your mobile.
- Tap Notifications.
- Scroll down to the General section and tap Notification Limits.
- Enable Use Notification Limits.
That's it, there's nothing else to do. From now on, as the description indicates, “if you receive a lot of notifications in a short time, your device will automatically reduce the volume and alerts for up to 2 minutes.“
To ensure you don't miss anything important, “calls, alarms, and conversations set as priority are not affected.” If that's not enough for you, we invite you to consult our guide which details all the options available to regain control of your notifications on Android.
