Google announces major changes to its Play Games platform. All Android games are now playable on PC, and several games so far PC-exclusive games will be coming to mobile.
You may not know this, but since 2022 (2023 in France), Google has been looking to break the line between mobile gaming and PC gaming. The Mountain View firm has launched Google Play Games on Windows, a platform that allows you to launch your favorite Android games on your computer screen.
It now wants to go further, and that's an understatement. At the Game Developers Conference (GDC), Google announced major changes coming to Play Games, starting with the arrival of all Android games on PC.
The catalog of accessible titles is suddenly expanding enormously, even if, of course, availability does not rhyme with flawless gameplay. Everything will be done to make your task easier, however. First, you can refer to the badges affixed by Google.
If it says “Optimized“, go for it with your eyes closed. “Playable” means that the minimum requirements for the PC game are met, but that everything won't be perfect. Finally, “Not tested” leaves you in the dark. Launch the game and see what happens.

To improve the experience, settings will be easily accessible, allowing you, for example, to simulate the touch interface by adding virtual joysticks to the screen responding to your keyboard keys. A new feature that will be rolled out during the month of March. At the same time, Google also revealed the arrival of several games previously reserved for PCs on Android smartphones.

Among the names listed are the excellent Dredge and Disco Elysium, as well as Sonic Rumble and Game of Thrones Kingsroad. All will be reworked to offer gameplay perfectly suited to mobile. This should give an additional argument to the defenders of foldable smartphones like the Galaxy Z Fold. A big screen for gaming is always better.
