Google promises a corrective for the villain bug of old chromecast

This isn't planned obsolescence. By launching the TV Streamer, Google effectively ended the Chromecast adventure last August, after 11 years of loyal service. This doesn't mean, however, that the models still in use today have stopped working.

Google is working hard to fix the bug

This feeling of abandonment and dismay is nevertheless shared by many users of these older models. The 2nd generation Chromecast released in 2015, the one that allows you to "cast" content to a TV from a smartphone, as well as the Chromecast Audio from the same year (to broadcast to non-connected speakers) have been suffering from bugs for a few days, preventing them from doing their job. In fact, they display an unpleasant error message ("untrusted device") and... that's it.

This is obviously extremely frustrating for users, who had no problems with these simple devices, designed to do only one thing and which did it well until present. Google warns that you should not restore the device to factory settings, as this may completely block the devices.

Take heart, relief is coming. The problem seems to be on the server side, in other words, Google, whose engineers are worked hard to track down and fix the bug. The search engine also sent an email to affected users, in which the manufacturer apologized and indicated that a fix was in the works.
