It's now official, PC players of GTA V will no longer be left out and will finally be able to enjoy the ultimate version of the game, for free, from March 4, 2025!
Rockstar Games has just announced on its social networks and its official website that a major update free day will be deployed on March 4th for all PC versions of GTA V allowing to install the Next-Gen patch with all the content and improvements of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions that console players have been able to enjoy since March 2022.
In addition to this, this Next-Gen version will offer new technical improvements exclusive to PC.
GTA V: The Ultimate Version on March 4, 2022
Almost ten years after the release of the PC version of GTA V, Rockstar Games is preparing to close this chapter by deploying the latest technical update of the game allowing to have the ultimate version of the adventures of Michael, Franklin and Trevor.
Starting March 4, all PC players who own a physical or digital version of GTA V will be able to download an update free update that will add new content including:
- [GTA ONLINE] A range of new vehicles and upgrades in Hao’s Special Works (HSW) garage are 5 vehicles to purchase and 9 to customize.
- [GTA ONLINE] The addition of animals throughout southern San Andreas and the ability to take pictures of them to participate in the daily wildlife photography challenge and earn new rewards.
- [GTA ONLINE] The launch of the GTA+ subscription to enjoy special benefits in the enhanced version of GTA Online and beyond.
- [GTA ONLINE] Career progression, as you build your empire.
- [GTA ONLINE] The addition of the new navigation page to select a game mode or starting destination to jump straight into the action.
- [GTA ONLINE] Access to an improved introductory flow for new players with a GTA$4,000,000 bonus to purchase properties, vehicles and other items when you start as an executive, gunrunner, nightclub owner or biker in the Career Builder.
In addition to this, players will be able to enjoy new features on the technical and visual side including:
- The addition of an improved version of Ray Tracing only available on PC, with support for ambient occlusion, global illumination, improved shadows and reflections – in addition to the Ray Tracing already available added on PS5/Series X/S
- Support for AMD FSR1 and FSR3, and NVIDIA DLSS 3
- Faster load times with SSD and DirectStorage on supported devices and configurations
- Improved support for higher resolutions and aspect ratios, as well as faster refresh rates
- Support for DualSense® controllers, with adaptive triggers
- Improved audio with support for Dolby Atmos and improved fidelity speech, cinematics and music.
To enjoy this update, you will of course need to have a more powerful PC. Rockstar specifies, however, that for players who are not lucky enough to have a powerful enough PC, they will still be able to enjoy the old versions of GTA5 and GTA Online without problems!
