If the cult song teaches us that we shouldn't talk about Bruno, it's perhaps because Bruno has a tongue too much. In an interview with the American media People – for the launch of the musical Buena Vista Social Club in New York – actor John Leguizamo didn't hesitate for a single second to lift the veil on Encanto 2. “I'm waiting for an Encanto 2 in which we only talk about Bruno” declared the original interpreter of the character to the microphone of journalists. It must be said that after having been locked up Within the walls of Casa Madrigal for years, the poor, reclusive uncle deserves his moment of glory.
“I call them every day (Disney, editor's note) asking them, ‘when is the second film coming?’ They're trying to establish a storyline. They're working on it,” he added. Disney has never mentioned this possible sequel yet, but its existence already seems obvious. The big-eared company's new strategy is based primarily on live-action sequels and remakes, with projects such as Frozen 3 and 4 and Toy Story 5 in the works for the coming years. So, while we'll have to wait for official confirmation to be sure, John Leguizamo's words are certainly true.
A second film to accompany the attraction?
To add credibility to the actor's revelation, let's remember that the universe of Encanto is about to become one of the icons of the Animal Kingdom park at Walt Disney World in Florida. The redesign of the DinoLand, U.S.A. land into a new area called Pueblo Esperanza will be accompanied by a faithful reproduction of the magical house of the Madrigal Family. This will house a dark-ride attraction whose scenario has already been presented as an extension of the first film.
With the inauguration of these new features planned for the course of 2027, Disney could well prepare Encanto 2 for 2028. Enough to promote the new land, while continuing the momentum of Frozen 3, which is scheduled for release on November 24, 2027. at the time of this writing.
For amusement park aficionados who would like to go to Coming to Walt Disney World in a few years, Pueblo Esperanza will also host a carousel and a new attraction dedicated to the Indiana Jones franchise. In the resort's other parks, other major projects are also in the works, such as a Monsters Inc. roller coaster and a Cars area in the Magic Kingdom's Frontierland.
