Announced last week, the Thermomix TM7 is already establishing itself as a major evolution compared to its predecessor, the TM6. With its sleek black design, its 11-inch touchscreen and its new features dedicated to AI, it promises to revolutionize the culinary experience, while ensuring low volume.
The missing accessory
One detail, however, raises questions. The Minute Cutter, launched in 2022 for the TM6, had quickly become essential for many users. This accessory made it possible to grate and slice vegetables directly in the robot, filling a significant gap in the robot's native capabilities. Two years later, the brand had also completed the possibilities of the Minute Cutter, by adding a Spiral Cutter which made it possible to cut vegetable tagliatelle.
The problem is that if the new TM7 offers a new closing system from the bottom, it will be, de facto, incompatible with the Minute Cutter, confirms the brand. The new Vorwerk model therefore arrives on the market with a relatively limited set of basic accessories, namely a Varoma, a spatula, a cooking basket … and that's it. Nothing too serious in itself, the TM6 benefited from the same lot. The fact remains that the slicer-grater function quickly became essential for users of the robot.
Some compatible accessories
It's all the more unfortunate that some accessories (which do not need to be fixed to the lid of the appliance) remain compatible. This is particularly the case for the vegetable peeler disc and the Sensor cooking probe. Two practical accessories sold as an option, but far from being as essential as the grater-slicer option when it comes to completing the Thermomix ecosystem.
Finally, let us recall that the TM6 had benefited from its Minute Cutter more than two years after its initial release. An uncertainty that could tip the balance in favor of the TM6, or of the competition with Lidl's Monsieur Cuisine among consumers. The TM7 is scheduled for April 7, so it is not yet known whether a replacement accessory will be offered as soon as the product is launched, or a little later. However, it is difficult to imagine that users will succeed in do without it for a long time, as the accessory is so practical. We already know, however, that in the very probable hypothesis where a similar accessory comes to be launched, it will be offered at a high price. The Minute Cutter+ is marketed at more than a hundred euros for the TM6 model. Little chance that the one of the TM7 will do better for less.
