Who said that menus with toys were reserved for children? Two years after the Happy Meal for adults launched in a limited edition in the United States, McDonald's restaurants in France are preparing to receive an exclusive menu of the same ilk. As the launch of Minecraft The Movie in French cinemas approaches on April 2, the cubic universe is coming to the fast-food chain with a menu of goodies that are not lacking in imagination.
Packaging and exclusive sauce: McDonald's goes all out background
Since Pokémon Happy Meals, Coca-Cola glasses, and Christmas stockings are hard to compete with Naruto or Squid Game goodies from Burger King, the French branch of McDonald's is finally serving up a collaboration that packs a punch. Starting March 25, the Minecraft menu will be available in a Happy Meal-style box, with golden colors and a cubic design. It will consist of a large fries and a large drink, as well as a box of 9 nuggets (in classic or vegetarian versions). This choice is certainly not insignificant, since the word "nugget" in English means "nugget," which refers to the game's minerals. Or perhaps it's simply a reference to the poor chickens that Minecraft players have no choice but to destroy to avoid starving. Who knows.
Integrating nuggets into the menu also gives McDonald's the opportunity to offer a limited-edition sauce, inspired by the Nether dimension. It will therefore be a hot sauce, worthy of the flames of this parallel zone, composed of red pepper, cayenne pepper and a little apricot for a touch of sweetness. In addition to this limited-edition meal, customers will also be able to opt for the new Cookie Dough McFlurry for dessert.
Six collectible figurines
Collectors will be delighted to learn that the Minecraft menu also comes with collectible toys. French McDonald's restaurants have drawn A line on plastic toys, but this good ecological resolution does not seem to concern the limited edition adult menus. No cardboard board game or book on the program: the Minecraft menu will offer six figurines, transforming McDonald's icons in the cubic style of the video game.
It will therefore be possible to find toys bearing the image of the old mascots of the brand – Grimace, Birdie and Hamburglar – as well as a Big Mac, a soda potion or even an armor helmet made of fries. Moreover, these gifts will be accompanied by a code to use on the Minecraft Bedrock store to unlock skins. The collaboration has no end date, with the brand preferring to simply mention “in participating McDonald's for a limited time, while stocks last“. So don't delay to avoid missing out on these exclusive goodies.
