Since last year, Microsoft has been radically changing its strategy by offering on PS5 and, sometimes on Switch, the port of its exclusives. After Sea of Thieves, Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush or even Grounded last spring, Microsoft should release Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle in spring 2025 and soon other big hits much more notable in the history of Xbox. We are talking about the Forza, Gears of War and even Halo licenses.
The great Xbox sagas soon on PlayStation?
After the release of the first games on PlayStation and Switch, Microsoft intends to continue on this path. We already know that Indiana Jones will arrive in spring 2025 and according to the latest rumors, Forza Horizon 5 would also be on the way and would even have already been released.
Now, we learn through an insider, then a report from Windows Central which corroborates these claims with its own sources that other franchises are also planned for the PS5 as early as this year. And this time, we are talking about big licenses that are quite cult and have marked and shaped Xbox history.
So, according to the insider and the Windows Central report, the next games coming to PlayStation should be:
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
- Halo: The Master Chief Collection
- Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga
- Age of Mythology
- And “possibly” Gear of War 1 Ultimate Edition
Concerning Microsoft’s official statements, Phil Spencer said last November that there were “no red lines” in the Xbox games portfolio. Which meant that Microsoft wouldn't forbid itself from porting games or licenses, even the most iconic ones like Halo.
Among the big games to come and that have been announced recently, we already know that Doom: The Dark Ages is scheduled to arrive on PS5 as well as The Outer Worlds2. More than ever, Microsoft confirms its desire to end exclusivities.
