The competition is fierce on the Twitch streaming platform, and many videographers are claiming their place in the sun. While there is no shortage of popular streamers in our green lands (as we saw with Pixel War), there is still work to be done to reach the top of the basket in terms of views generated. This weekend, the world record was broken by an ingenious streamer who was able to take advantage of the popularity of the sports world.
Boxing between streamers
This is Ibai Llanos Garatea, better known simply as Ibai, who organized This June 26th, a real boxing match, opposing various streamers and internet stars, and broadcast on his Twitch channel. At the peak, the videographer managed to gather more than 3.3 million unique viewers on his event called La Velada del Año II.
He therefore exceeds, and by far, the previous record set by TheGrefg which stood at 2.5 million unique viewers. Thanks to this historic popularity, Ibai climbs in the ranking of streamers with the most subscribers, but does not take first place. In this area, it is still the player Ninja who dominates with 18.3 million subscribers.
We now wonder what event will break this viewership record, and if La Velada del Año III will be able to win the moon again for its organizer next year.
