Resident Evil 9: Changes and an advertisement?

It will soon be four years since the last new installment in the Resident Evil saga was released, in May 2021 with Resident Evil Village. Since then, fans have been waiting for the ninth game in the saga, which has, for the moment, still not been announced by Capcom.

To while away the time, fans of the franchise were able to rediscover Resident Evil 4 with an excellent remake. And soon, the remasters of Resident Evil 5 and 6 could arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Then, perhaps, it will be time for the announcement of the highly anticipated Resident Evil 9 which, according to an insider, is not far away!

Resident Evil 9: Changes and an advertisement?

According to insider Dusk Golem, Capcom is finally ready to unveil the new installment in the Resident Evil saga. According to the insider's information, the game's announcement and presentation are expected for this year, 2025. However, no details on the game's release date have been given.

Also according to Dusk Golem, Resident Evil 9 should offer some daring changes that will aim to reinvent the franchise. So, with this new installment, we should have something different, something that isn't just a simple sequel to Resident Evil Village.

Finally, regarding the character at the center of this new game, the insider claims that Jill Valentine, who was supposed to be the heroine of this new game, was ultimately dropped in favor of Leon Kennedy, the hero of Resident Evil 2 and 4.

To conclude the Resident Evil saga, Dusk Golem reaffirms that Capcom still has the goal of offering other ports and remakes. In addition to Resident Evil 5 and 6, a remake of Resident Evil 0 is also reportedly in the works. Fans will have plenty to keep them busy!

However, you won't be able to count on the famous online mode Resident Evil RE:Verse since it was officially abandoned by Capcom. The servers are expected to shut down permanently by this summer.
