Disney+ wants to make sure that no one misses the return of its most popular Star Wars series. The platform is therefore launching a charm campaign to encourage them to watch the adventures of Cassian Andor. This operation is particularly aimed at those who do not (yet) have a subscription to its offer. While more and more platforms are engaging in the exercise of the free episode accessible to Everyone, Star Wars hits harder with the first three episodes of season 1. Viewers no longer have any excuses.
For a few hours now, the first three chapters of Andor have been available on the Disney Plus France YouTube channel. They had been added to the American version overnight. This choice is not insignificant, it allows viewers to lay eyes on a complete narrative arc. As a reminder, the series developed by Tony Gilroy focused on a period in Cassian Andor's life over three episodes, before jumping forward several years for the next three.
Four periods were immortalized. The series aims to retrace the events that led to those told by Rogue One in 2016. Gareth Edwards' film focused on the courageous rebel agents who stole the plans for the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon of destruction.
And season 2?
The end of Cassian Andor's adventures will soon be here. The date has already been set for April 23 on Disney+. Tony Gilroy's series will mark the resumption of hostilities between the rebels and the Empire, all led by Diego Luna, Genevieve O’Reilly and Stellan Skarsgård. Also returning are Denise Gough, Kyle Stoller and Ben Mendelsohn. Forest Whitaker, who was already in the film's cast, will also return. On the other hand, an appearance by Felicity Jones does not seem to be on the agenda for these episodes.
It should be about hooking up the wagons with Rogue One and before the meeting of Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, Chirrut Imwe and K-2SO. Twelve episodes will be proposed again and a third season is not envisaged. It remains to be seen whether the spectators will be as enthusiastic as for the previous ones.
