It's now official! Season 2 of The Last Of Us on HBO will be available from April 13 on HBO Max, and from April 14, 2025 in France. The announcement has just been made by Naughty Dog and HBO with the publication of three sublime posters highlighting Joel, Ellie and Abby.
The Last Of Us HBO: season 02 on April 14, 2025
We thought we would discover a new trailer and the release date on March 8, during the panel organized during SXSW in Texas. Finally, Naughty Dog and HBO will not wait and reveal three sublime posters for season 02 that give us an appointment on April 14, in France, for the release of episode 1 of this new season of The Last Of Us.
This season 02 will be composed of seven episodes, directed respectively by Craig Mazin, Mark Mylod, Peter Hoar, Kate Herron, Stephen Williams, Neil Druckmann and Nina Lopez-Corrado. In France, it will be possible to discover this season 02 of The Last of Us on HBO's Max streaming service. This one is available via Canal+ and Prime Video.
As a reminder, this season 02 will cover only part of the game The Last Of Us Part II. Unlike season 01 which managed to transcribe the entire story of the first game. A season 03 is already in the works and production should begin in June 2025, still in the Alberta region, in Canada. This season 03 should thus cover the second part of the game The Last Of Us Part II.
Just like season 01, these seasons 02 and 03 should offer, in addition to an adaptation of the game, unpublished sequences never discovered by players. In total, the series The Last Of Us should have four seasons. The last one would therefore be the adaptation of The Last Of Us Part III, currently in development at Naughty Dog.
