The Roomba are not dead, Irobot returns with four new robot vacuums

We thought the brand was asleep, but no. iRobot is making its return to the world of robot vacuum cleaners by announcing the arrival of four new Roomba models for all budgets.

The Roomba are not dead, Irobot returns with four new robot vacuums

Some brands or product names are so iconic that we end up associating them with a device. Who hasn't heard someone reply "a Samsung" when they were trying to find out if the person they were asking owns an Android smartphone or an iPhone? It's a bit the same with robot vacuum cleaners. Ask someone to name a model and there's a good chance they'll say "a Roomba," after the ones made by iRobot.

Yet it's not exactly the manufacturer that's been in the news lately. This is surprising, given that the competition is trying to innovate with the integration of artificial intelligence or new features. This silence had a good reason: iRobot has announced the upcoming arrival of four new models to catch up. The price range is wide enough for everyone to find something for them.

The Roomba is back in force with four new models

On March 18, 2025, pre-orders will open for the Roomba 105, 205, 405 and 505, before arriving in stores from March 23. The first is priced at €399 while the last, the most advanced, is offered at €799. On the program for each model compared to the 600 series: increased suction power, faster environment mapping, more precise navigation, a more efficient mopping function and better carpet detection.

No innovation never seen before, however. The Roomba 505, for example, has extendable arms to mop the floor in every nook and cranny, something already found on the Xiaomi X20 Max. This model also features a now-classic feature of the genre, namely a station where the robot will empty its dust bin and wash/dry its mops automatically. PrecisionVision AI to facilitate obstacle detection will also be included.

You can already sign up for the newsletter to be notified of the launch of the new range. By visiting the iRobot website, you will see a banner at the very top of the home page stating “A new era of cleaning begins on 03/18/2025” followed by a “Sign up” button. Click on it to open a pop-up where you will need to enter an email address. Note that if you have never ordered from the manufacturer, you will receive a coupon allowing you to benefit from a 5% discount on your first purchase.
