Free has finally decided to do its internet subscribers a favor. Thanks to a nightly update, the boxes are now capable of reaching 900Mbit/s in upload speed. An upload that several customers have been able to see, who are rejoicing about it on social networks. For the moment, the Freebox Pop and Delta are the ones that are benefiting from this significant speed gain; until now, their upload speed was capped at 700Mbit/s. Far from the 1 Gbit/s offered by most competing offers.

A bigger pipe to send data faster
Free does have an offer in its catalog that exceeds Gbit/s, it is the Freebox Delta which can climb up to 8 Gbit/s in upload speed! But the price is not the same either. We do not yet know if the Freebox Revolution will be entitled to this nice little bonus (they are currently limited to an upload of 600 Mbit/s). The most surprising thing about this story is that the operator has not announced or even confirmed anything.
Could it be a technical error? That Free has suddenly enlarged the pipe without doing it on purpose? Impossible to say at the moment. This is still good news that should speed up the uploading of large files online.
