After Rebel Moon, here is Zack Snyder's new muscular project

Alongside his upcoming film in partnership with Netflix, for which he recently directed Rebel Moon, Zack Snyder will tackle a muscular project for the UFC. Since leaving the DC universe, the director of Man of Steel and 300 hasn't been idle, and his unique style could well show us the wrestling world in a new light!

While his filmography is uneven in terms of quality, Zack Snyder can nevertheless boast a particular artistic style that allows him to stand out from his colleagues. His slow motion and cold, almost metallic colors do not leave anyone indifferent, and give each of his projects a patina that is recognizable among a thousand. The 59-year-old filmmaker recently stood out with the animated series Twilight Of The Gods for Netflix, a testament to his curiosity for varied audiovisual forms. As the films that have marked his career over the past 20 years prove, this former publicist particularly likes action and hard-hitting fights: it's a good thing, his next feature film, entitled Brawler, will be devoted to MMA!

The plot will follow the fate of a Los Angeles resident who rises within the UFC, the most famous combat sports league in the world. He will collaborate with Dana White, the president of the MMA organization, and Turki Al-Sheikh, president of the General Authority for Entertainment in Saudi Arabia, who praised in a statement Zack Snyder's Style:

I've been a fan of Zack's work for years, his unique style - from his signature action sequences to his sweeping visuals and intensely emotional storytelling - coupled with his humanized portrayal of deeply flawed and singular characters. I couldn't imagine a better person to partner with to bring the UFC to the big screen. The Ring magazine [which he owns], with its 103-year history, will contribute to the success of the project.

The director will also serve as co-producer and co-writer of the film. It remains to find out which actor will be chosen to play the main character on screen. Last year, it was Jake Gyllenhaal who took on the role of a former UFC fighter in the Road House remake, broadcast on Prime Video. For Brawler, we hope that Zack Snyder will take the bold step of choosing a new face... Maybe the next Dave Bautista!
