Black Panther 2 airs on TF1: a film to watch before the next Avengers Doomsday

If you didn't know what to do on your next Sunday evening, TF1 surely has what you need. As if to celebrate the start of the school holidays in zone C and Corsica, the French broadcaster has planned a great movie screening on TV for this Sunday when children will be allowed to go to bed later. On April 13 at 9:10 p.m., viewers who switch to TF1 will have the chance to discover Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the famous sequel to the 2018 cult film. This Marvel blockbuster dates back to 3 years ago and it's time for a refresher. With Avengers: Doomsday fast approaching (its theatrical release is scheduled for April 29, 2026), viewers have every interest in catching up on the story of Wakanda and its hero Black Panther, who has changed his identity.

Shuri takes up the torch

Whether you follow the Marvel Cinematic Universe closely or from afar, you are certainly aware that the original interpreter of the hero unfortunately left us in 2020, following health complications. The unexpected death of Chadwick Boseman has definitely changed the future of Marvel feature films, which were then forced to explore new avenues following the disappearance of this key character. Rather than replace the actor, the studio made the wise decision to include his death in the second film, a beautiful mark of respect and tribute.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is therefore not a usual film for the MCU, since it gives the characters, but especially the actors, the opportunity to mourn Chadwick Boseman. Thus, this sequel is of capital importance since it presents the transfer of Black Panther's powers to Shuri, the little sister of T'Challa. The origin story of this new heroine is to be rewatched or caught up as soon as possible, knowing that the defender of Wakanda will make her appearance in the next feature film Avengers.

The importance of Wakanda for the Avengers

The interminable live presentation held by Marvel on March 26 revealed the first names present in the cast of Avengers: Doomsday. Since then, the studio has confirmed that other actors will also be there, but we know for sure that Shuri will be there. Actress Letitia Wright's name appeared on one of the chairs during the first live show, confirming Black Panther's presence in the battle against Doctor Doom. And everything suggests that Shuri will play a very important role.

Aside from the fact that viewers instinctively associate Black Panther with the Avengers, the technological advances developed in Wakanda will provide much-needed help to the heroes. We therefore strongly advise you to enjoy the broadcast of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on TF1 this Sunday to prepare yourself for next year's blockbuster. Otherwise, you can always watch this film on Disney+ whenever you feel like it!
